    BIOSTIMULANTS / HUMATES

    Enhance fertiliser uptake

    Pasturepro

Pasture Pro is a microbial inoculant designed to be combined with fertiliser to enhance uptake, improve the effectiveness of the fertiliser, and increase soil biology.  It’s a propriety blend of microorganisms, designed to:

    • Convert dead and organic matter into food for increased biology and fertility
    • Produce growth promoting substances that increase plant production
    • Suppress harmful pathogens, e.g. fusarium and pasture fungal toxins
    • Increase carbon and nitrogen fixation
    • Stimulate mychorrizal activity, leading to increased phosphate uptake
    • Increases nutrient uptake in pasture

    Enhance fertiliser uptake

    Pasturepro Granular

PasturePro Granular (PPG) is a certified organic microbial inoculant that enhances fertiliser efficacy in the soil. PPG is a soil enhancing mixture of quality natural materials which have been carefully fermented using our liquid microbial inoculant. These natural materials provide a ‘home’ for the microbes allowing prolonged activity.

    • Stimulating nutrient transfer in the soil
    • Increasing the soil organic matter content and available nutrients
    • Providing nutrients and stimulatory compounds to growing plants
    • Improving the soil porosity and permeability
    • Increasing the micro-biomass of the soil

    Single most productive sustainable input

    Humates

Now recognised as the single most productive input in sustainable agriculture, humates consist of humic and fulvic acid along with the raw humates (prehistoric plant matter). They restore the vitality of the soil, increase its water holding capacity, and improve the availability of fertilisers. Ideal for all farming systems especially regenerative and biological applications.

    Benefits:

    • Carbon source
    • Helps prevent nutrients from leaching
    • Humic acid is a powerful fungi promotant. Beneficial fungi (including mycorrhizal fungi) are the missing link in many soils.
    • Humates stabilizes nitrogen, reduces solubility.
    • Ideal additive to coat all nitrogen-based products and all fertilisers for all farming practices.
    • Improve soil biology

    Animal probiotic

    Anpro

Anpro is an oral probiotic for animals that:

    •  Improves feed conversion rates
    •  Provides better feed utilisation
    •  Enhances gut micro-flora
    •  Improves appetite
    •  Supports animal health
    •  Improves immune system

    increase effluent pond microbial diversity

    Pondpro

Pondpro consists of mixed cultures of beneficial and natural occurring microorganisms that can be applied as inocculants to increase the microbial diversity of effluent ponds.  It’s been designed to improve the function of effluent ponds, primarily targeted at creating a balanced microbial environment which supresses negative and promotes beneficial organisms.

    Benefits include:

    • Reduction in odour levels
    • Reduction in sludge
    • Reduction in organic matter
    • Improved pond biology and function

      Multi Mineral Licks

We manufacture our own mineralised licks, so we know what goes into them.

No shortcut here. DXM, XM Plus, Multimineral Extra and Fodder Beet licks are carefully formulated to immediately address mineral deficiencies.

A cost-effective and proven way to enhance animal condition.

These are carefully formulated to immediately address mineral deficiencies and provide a cost-effective and proven way to enhance animal condition.

      • Multimineral Extra: A blend of salt and minerals suitable for sheep, cattle, deer, horses and goats all year round.
      • DXM: Similar to Multimineral Extra but with extra added magnesium. Suitable for use all year round but particularly effective in Spring when pasture magnesium levels are lower. Ideal for dairy cows and ewes in lamb.
      • DXM Plus: Similar to DXM but with extra added copper, zinc and iodine. Suitable for stock displaying severe signs of mineral deficiencies. Suitable as a boost for younger animals. Note: Some breeds of sheep have a lower tolerance of copper eg Texel.
      • Fodder Beet: A blend of salt and minerals with the extra phosphorus required for cattle on fodder beet. Suitable for cattle only

Why use a mineralised salt lick?

Why use a mineralised salt lick?
      • Minerals are essential for animal health and superior performance, including disease resistance, fertility, milk production, weight gain and skeletal development.
      • The principal purpose of a mineralised lick is to act as a nutritional buffer between an animal and its feed.
      • Mineralised licks are designed to compensate for an inherent or seasonal lack of certain minerals, as well as for the frequent and sometimes rapid changes that occur in pasture mnieral levels.
      • Mineralised licks from Mainland Minerals are palatable to livestock and provide a formulated balance of certain major and trace elements.
      • Mainland Minerals licks are proven to enhance livestock condition.

      Points To Remember

Please keep in mind the following:
      • Minerals should be in balance in the total diet.
      • Animal mineral requirements depend on age, growth and production.
      • An excess of certain minerals can cause as many problems as a deficiency.
      • Symptoms of mineral deficiencies are often not specific for any one mineral. For example, ill-thrift, a rough hair coat or bone problems may result from a deficiency in any one of several minerals.
      • Mineral deficiencies or excesses are not the only cause of performance problems in livestock.
      • Although a mineral deficiency may induce a specific symptom, more common effects tend to be lower growth, lower milk production or reduced conception and birth rates.

        UrateS

        better nitrogen

        UrateS

UrateS is a combination of urea, ammonia sulphate, limeflour and humates.

It is well known that when humates are applied with nitrogen the volatilisation or losses of nitrogen to the atmosphere are reduced. Both humates and calcium encourage biological activity helping to negate the effects of urea on soil life. Calcium also removes some of the acidity from sulphur and urea. It is vital to add regular small amounts of sulphur to the soil as sulphur is easily leached.

Overall a product that improves the efficiency of nitrogen applications and negates some of the negative aspects of pasture boost.

          Dairy Nutrient Program

          Dairy Nutrient System

          Individual Farm Specific Nutrient Program

By working with Mainfert we ensure that your fertiliser program will be affordable, sustainable and meet current environmental regulations.

Many in the dairy sector will be playing catch up to Mainfert clients who have already reduced their nitrogen inputs by more than 50% and are already well below the 190N cap. We have worked hard to develop products and systems that deliver better environmental outcomes without any compromise on pasture performance or production results. Results also are shown in cow health and reproduction.

From our Urate range of coated nitrogen to our Mainphos range of sustainable low leaching phosphate products we have dairy nutrient requirements covered.

          Experience, knowledge & skill delivers

          Proven Results

Our process and approach when it comes to working with a dairy farm is to ensure that we are applying the right products, at the right quantities, at the right time, while being sustainable and meeting environmentally regulations. We have been working for over 15 years on reducing the amount of nitrogen needed but still getting quality pasture, animal health and production results.

Below is an example of a Farm Specific Nutrient Program, as well as the results of a Darfield Dairy Farm who switched to Mainfert back in 2011.

          • Farm use of nitrogen has halved since Mainfert started and still maintaining 18 – 20T p.a. pasture production.

          • Big improvement in density of pasture.

          • No more pasture pull. Prior to Mainfert program were getting 10-15% pasture pull each grazing round.

          • Significant increase in rooting depth, soil health, worm populations & soil aggregation.

          • Cows more content now. They are being fed quicker & sitting down by mid-morning. No longer chasing passing traffic

          The Result

Our fertiliser systems are designed to apply the nutrients required and at the same time encourage a healthier soil environment.

Our clients see dramatic changes in the soil structure, rooting depth and biological activity,  which gives the returns needed from the fertiliser budget. The above ground results are simply a consequence of getting the below ground system working like it should.
